5 Time Management Tips For An Easier Morning

Posted by Wink Admin on

If mornings aren’t your thing and you just can’t seem to get out of your own way in the morning, we have five tips to help make your mornings easier.

  1. Pick Out Your Clothes The Night Before

I know, seems like a no-brainer, right? You’ll be amazed at how outfit planning, be it for the day or for the entire week, gives you one less thing to worry about when it comes to getting yourself out of the door on time.

  1. Plan Out Your Breakfast And Lunch The Night Before

Even if you aren’t a big morning eater, grabbing something for breakfast is important to keeping your metabolism in check throughout the day.

Packing your lunch will not only help you save money but it will let you be in control of what you consume.

Get as much of your meals together as you can the night before - this includes everything from picking them out, to packing them, to preparing them - so that when it’s time to fly out the door, you just grab your lunch bag and go.

  1. Put What You Need By The Door

Is it going to rain tomorrow and you’ll need your rain boots and umbrella? Not sure if you’ll take a walk at lunch and may need sunscreen? Long train ride home and you want to start that new book you’ve been eyeing?

Start packing your bag the night before with your essentials and ‘maybe’ items and leave it right by the door, this way you literally have to almost trip over it to leave your house.

  1. Get Up Ten Minutes Earlier

May not sound like a big deal, but it is, trust me.

Having those few extra minutes in the morning to expect the unexpected will pay off big time when you’re halfway down the street and realize you’ve forgotten your coffee you planned on taking on the kitchen counter.

If you want, feel free to add five minutes a week to that original ten so that you slowly incorporate the waking early without it being a total disruption to your daily schedule.

  1. If You Have Kids, Get Yourself Ready First

Kids are unpredictable, and your run-ins may not go as smoothly as you anticipate in the mornings.

Getting yourself ready first will mean one less person to worry about before you make the break for the door to start everyone’s day.
