5 Tips To Help Stop Overeating

Posted by Wink Admin on

Overeating can be a big problem for some of us, and if you’re looking to lose weight it’s a mighty big obstacle that has the potential to stand in your way.

Here’s five tips to help you get any overeating under control.

1.Drink Water

This is the #1 most important thing you can do whether you’re dieting or not.

Water is so good for you and your body, not only just in keeping you hydrated but to help curb hunger and to keep your digestive track in line.

2. Eat Slowly

Give your palate a chance to taste your food as well as your stomach a chance to tell you it’s full before you overfill it.

3. Use Smaller Plates

You’ll be less tempted to take an extra scoop when you know you don’t have room for it on your plate.

Oftentimes your eyes really are bigger than your stomach and using smaller plates helps you keep your portion sizes under control.

4. Eat At The Table

Not on the run, not while you’re driving, not even when you’re watching TV.

Eat at the table and eat slowly.

This practice will help you become much more mindful of what you’re putting into your body.

5. Be Mindful When Eating Out

If you’re dining at a restaurant, order off the kids menu or off of the appetizer list.

If you do chose to order an adult-sized entree, consider splitting it with your dining partner or when it comes out, simply put half in a to-go container and have it for lunch the next day.

Portion control and not overeating don’t have to be hard when dining out, just be mindful of what you’re ordering, eat slowly, and drink water with your meal.
