3 Steps To Help Heal Your Mind From Emotional Baggage

Posted by Wink Admin on

Dealing with mental strain can be exhausting.

If you’re carrying around emotional unhealthiness it can be detrimental to your physical well-being as well.

Here’s three great ways to help you leave the mental baggage and emotional negativity behind you so that you can become a healthier you.

1. Journal

Your notebook doesn’t have to be fancy, but it can be if you’d like.

The key is to write down what’s bothering you now, what bothered you in the past, and what’s scaring you about the future.

You can keep your journals a secret for your eyes only or you can choose to share them with a family member or close friend – the choice is yours, do what you feel most comfortable with.

Getting out your fears, dreams, bitterness, and resentment is a catharsis that’s healthy for your whole body.

You can journal a little or a lot, go with what feels right for you.

The point of the journaling is getting the emotional and mental baggage out of your mind and clearing that space for better, happier thoughts.

2. Look For The Lessons

During your journaling, be sure to reflect on your happenings – what/what made you feel so bad or mad or unworthy.

Look for the positive in whatever negative situation you write about – dig deep and reflect on the instance to figure out the lesson it taught you.

3. Practice Being Mindful and Present

Read self-help books about staying within the present moment, grab a beginner’s book on the fundamentals of Buddhism, or research on the Internet or at your local library.

When you stay in the present and become mindful of your own thoughts and actions towards others you help cultivate a sense of gratitude within yourself for all those you come in contact with both now and in the future.
